Denton Watumull

Dr. Denton Watumull is a triple board-certified plastic surgeon and the president and founder of Regional Plastic Surgery Center, one of the Dallas area's largest and fastest-growing plastic surgery groups, based in Richardson, Texas.

Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, he attended Punahou School, where he was recognized as an All-American water polo athlete and pursued glassblowing as an artistic interest, earning multiple awards. He earned his undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Claremont McKenna College in California as the school's top science student while competing in varsity aquatics, then received his medical degree from the University of Hawaii with honors and membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his surgical training at the University of Texas Southwestern, including residencies in general and trauma surgery, plastic surgery, and hand and microsurgery -- nine years of advanced postdoctoral training culminating in board certification across three specialties.

He has held leadership roles including Chief of Staff, Chief of Surgery, President of the Dallas Society of Plastic Surgeons (2019-2021), and Medical Director at two surgery centers. He has been named to D Magazine's Best Doctors in Dallas list 17 times and inducted into its Hall of Fame, as voted by his physician peers, has been selected to the Texas Monthly "Super Doctors" list 18 times, and has been recognized by Top10MD.com as a Top 10 Plastic Surgeon in Dallas. Earlier in his career he received the TMS Robert Cronin Award for Plastic Surgery Research (1991) and was a co-recipient of the Emmanuel Kaplan Award for Hand Anatomy Research.

His practice emphasizes artistic precision and natural-looking results across facial, breast, and body procedures, and he continues to pursue glassblowing, paralleling the precision and artistry of his surgical work.
