J. Timothy Katzen

Dr. J. Timothy Katzen is an award-winning, board-certified plastic surgeon practicing in Beverly Hills, California and Las Vegas, Nevada. He received his Bachelor of Science in biology from Duke University and his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia, then completed a decade of advanced training in general and plastic surgery: a general surgery residency and internship at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu, a plastic surgery residency at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, and three separate year-long fellowships -- burn surgery at Vanderbilt under Dr. J.B. Lynch, microsurgery at St. Joseph Hospital under Dr. Benjamin Cohen, and craniofacial surgery at New York University Medical Center under Dr. Joseph McCarthy.

He is internationally known for his post-weight-loss body contouring work, including his trademark 360-degree circumferential body lift technique, and has been featured on television programs such as TLC's "The Real Skinny" and Discovery Health's "The Incredible Shrinking Woman." He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the International College of Surgeons, and President of the American Society of Bariatric Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Katzen offers individually tailored surgical procedures for the body, breast, face, and skin, as well as nonsurgical treatments, and involves each patient closely in the decision-making process for their surgical plan. He actively supports nonprofit organizations including Obesity Help, the Weight Loss Surgery Foundation of America, and the Obesity Action Coalition.
