Thomas Su

Dr. Thomas Su is the founder of ArtLipo in Tampa, Florida, a practice devoted exclusively to advanced awake liposuction and lipedema surgery since 2007. He began his medical career in internal medicine before transitioning fully to cosmetic body contouring in 2005, and has since performed more than 10,000 liposuction procedures.

Dr. Su brings an unusual dual background to his surgical work: before medical school he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and spent four years studying the human figure through drawing, painting, and sculpture. That training informs his approach to body contouring, and he still draws from live models and exhibits his artwork in juried shows such as the annual Nude Nite Tampa.

He is the developer of the trademarked "Celebrity Arms" sculpting technique and the Lipo 360 approach to arm and leg liposuction, and is recognized as an expert in surgical treatment of lipedema, having helped more than 500 women with the condition. He is the author of "Celebrity Arms in a Day: Body Sculpting with the New Interactive Lipo Method" and teaches his techniques at professional meetings including the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS).
